Who is it for, this site?

The Pinhoe Cub Scouts web site is aimed mainly at parents of Cubs, and more particularly parents of prospective Cubs, so that they can see what we are about and the sort of things we get up to. The photos on the "News" and the "What we do" pages may also appeal to boys and girls of Cub age - and hint that there are better things to do with their time than surf the Net!

This pinboard page is, however, meant for other Cub Scout Leaders. There are a few bits and pieces, and ideas, pinned up on this vitual board that may be of use to you. Feel free to download, modify as you like, and pass off as your own.

Information for parents

We have a 16-page A5 information booklet that we give to parents of boys who want to join the Pack. As well as the essential information on cost, uniform and so on, the booklet also gives the new parent other information that they are entitled to know - such as, who are these adults who will be looking after my son, and who do I complain to if I don't like the way they do it.

Membership Award Workbook

Membership Award Workbook

When new boys join the Cub Pack it can be difficult to give them the fun and adventure they deserve at the same time as working through the background material they should do for the Cub Scout Membership Award. Particularly if you are short of Leaders.

To ease this problem a bit we have produced a 13-page A4 workbook which is given to each new Cub. The activities in the workbook can be done during Cub Meetings or at home and, when done, complete the requirements for the Cub Scout Membership Award.

Activity Badges

The Cub Scout Powerpack lists the Activity Badges available to Cubs, but doesn't say what the requirements are for each one.

We have an A4 booklet which we give to all Cubs, giving the full requirements, together with suggestions as to how some of the Badges can be earned away from Cubs. The booklet includes the requirements for Stage 1 of the Staged Activity Badges.

Child protection

For child protection reasons, full names of children do not appear in this web site and pictures of children are not linked with a name, even a first name.
