No-sleepoverIn December we got together with a couple of other Packs in Exeter and had a no-sleepover. A no-sleepover is like a sleepover except that you don't get any sleep! This was at the District HQ on Marsh Barton. We had activities all night including crafts, a camp-fire sing-song, games and a treasure hunt. We watched a video at about 2am, snuggled in our sleeping-bags, and most boys dropped off for an hour or so, but soon got up for more activities like football in the empty car park and archery at 5 in the morning. Then we made bacon sandwiches for breakfast and went home. |

Cyclist BadgeIn the Autumn Term we did the Cyclist Badge. Over 4 weeks we had bases on bicycle maintenance, puncture repair, road safety and riding better. We also tested how well reflective armbands make it easier for car drivers to see you. 30 boys achieved their Cyclist badge. |

Map Trail at KillertonAt the end of June we had a Map Trail at Killerton. Each Six went off round Killerton and left a marker at six different places and, using an orienteering map, took the map reference of the six places. Then another Six had to use their list of map references to find the markers and bring them back. As well as testing our map reading, we also got to know the cows who lived in the fields we were using! |

Tea making raceOne evening in the summer term we had a tea making race. Working in their Sixes, the boys had to build and light fires and use them to boil enough water to make a cup of tea for a Leader. The first Six to make a good cup of tea won the race. Most of them then wanted to carry on and make tea for themselves and for all the other adults! |

Weekend archeryWe continue to take small groups of boys at the weekend, whenever possible, to practice their archery. When the weather allows - not very often this year - we go outdoors. |
St George's Day ParadeIn April we took part in the annual St George's Day Parade. Together with all the Scouts and Guides in Exeter we paraded down the High Street to the Cathedral. There we renewed our Cub Scout Promise. |

Every Biscuit tells a StoryFor Mothers Day we made some biscuits to take home. The biscuits were iced and then we drew pictures on the icing telling a story showing how much we loved our Mum. One boy thought his picture might not be too clear, and explained that it meant "I'll still come to visit you when you're in the Old Fogies Home." |
