Cajun Christmas PartyWe ended the Autumn Term with a traditional (!?) Cajun Christmas Party! Cajun describes the people who live in the swamps (the Bayou) of Louisiana in the USA, so we turned the heating up to swamp temperature and had the party in shorts and tee-shirts. We decorated the swamp, had swamp games, played Zydeco music and ate jambalaya and gumbo. |

Pinhoe Pet ShowDuring the Autumn Term we did the Animal Carer Badge. One of the things we did was hold a Pet Show, where everybody brought in their pet and told us something about it. We tried to keep the different sorts of animals apart, and only brought them into the Hall a few at a time to be shown, so that none of them got frightened. As well as a tortoise, and cats, dogs, hamsters and rabbits we also had some more exotic pets like stick insects and spiders! |
Summer CubsWe carry on meeting during the Summer Holidays. We don't wear uniform, we stay later than usual because we don't have to go to school next day, and we try to be outside all the time. One of the things we did was an evening of very wet games, ending with a water slide we made with a plastic sheet and soap. |

StonehengeWe celebrated the Summer Solstice by building a model of Stonehenge from cardboard boxes. Then we used Stonehenge as an obstacle course. Boys went through in their Sixes, all blindfolded except the boy at the back. They had to find and pick up a packet of sweets. Only the boy at the front is allowed to pick up the sweets, following instructions from the boy at the back. |

Cyclo-crossIn the Summer Term we made a cyclo-cross course round the Hut, to practice off-road riding, and to get a few tips on safe cycling. |
Easter Egg Hunt!At the end of the Spring Term we had an Easter Egg Hunt, using bows and arrows! The little targets on the bosses have got a picture of an Easter Egg in the middle. If you hit one of the little targets you win one Easter Egg. To win a second Egg you've got to hit inside the blue on one of the little targets. To win a third Egg you've got to be inside the red, and to win a fourth Egg you've got to hit the Egg! |

Wide Game in Danes WoodIn March we went to Danes Wood to play a Wide Game. We also built a commando bridge between two big trees, that everybody could have a go at going across. |
Chinese New Year CelebrationsIn February we celebrated Chinese New Year by eating rice and noodles using chopsticks. We also built the Great Wall of China, and the Chinese and the Mongols had a battle by throwing sponge balls over the wall. The team with the least balls on their side when the whistle blew was the winner - the Mongols won! |
