Summer Cubs

We carried on meeting during the Summer Holidays. We didn't wear uniform and we stayed later than usual because we didn't have to go to school next day. This is some of the stuff we did.

We did some target shooting with a paintball gun.

Target . .
Aim . . (The paint balls don't always break, and they can bounce back and hit you. So wear goggles to keep your eyes safe.)
And we did an Olympic Games - this event is throwing the bubble-rocket, but it wasn't very good at making bubbles!

(Don't ask me why the boy has got a cone on his head!)
Throw . .
Guard . . One week we had a camp fire battle.

The boys are in two gangs, and each gang has to build and light a fire at opposite ends of the field.
Then they've got to try to carry enough water in plastic cups to put out the other gangs fire. They're allowed to spill the other gangs water if they can! Attack . .
Hot-dog . . When there was only one fire left alight, we used it to cook some hot-dogs.
Another week we played with a water-powered rocket.

You have to pump up the rocket with air, which is quite hard work.
Pump . .
Fire . . Then, suddenly, the rocket shoots into the air, soaking anybody who was standing too close!
One week an archery instructor came and we did archery. Archery
Pizza One night we had a sleep-over.

We went to Crealy Adventure Park in the afternoon, then in the evening we cooked dinner (pizzas), played some games, and slept at the Scout Hut.
Making Akela a cup of tea, very early in the morning after the sleep-over. Tea
