Every year we have a special camp for the
new boys in the Pack, who've not camped with us before.
The camp lasts for a weekend and is called the YBC. That means "the Young
Boys' Camp".

|
This year the YBC was in April, and 9 boys
came.
We slept in the Hut for the first night, then we put up tents and slept in
tents for the second night.
Here are some photos of what we did. |
At the YBC, the boys get introduced to all the things which
are different about camping with Cubs and Scouts. That includes having to do
your share of the chores!
Like peeling the potatoes for dinner . . . |
 |
 |
. . . and washing up after dinner!
(Yes, we do have a dishwasher. It's you!) |
Saturday night's dinner we cooked on fires.
Have you noticed how muddy it was! |
 |
| On Sunday we built a bridge. It needs
everybody to work together to build a bridge. |

 |
It had been raining all week, so we stayed
outdoors as much as we could. |
Wellies are always essential on Cub Camps - particularly if
there's a stream to play in!
But maybe wellies should have holes in the toes, so they drain better! |

When Mum asks, "How did you get your socks so muddy, when you had your
Wellington boots on?" . . . .
