Sixers' Camp

Caddihoe Sixers' Camp
In November the older boys went to camp at Caddihoe, and took part in some challenges.

First Aid Badge

During the Autumn Term we were working on the First Aid Badge. We learned how to make injured people more comfortable with arm slings and bandages, and we also learned life-saving first aid like controlling bleeding. And we practised mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on a dummy.
First Aid Badge

A bandaging race, using loo rolls instead of bandages. Those poor boys must have been badly injured!

Thirteen boys got their First Aid Badge, as well as some boys who had it already. So Pinhoe is a pretty good place to be if you have an accident!

Summer Cubs

Summer Cubs We carried on meeting during the Summer Holidays. We didn't wear uniform, we stayed later than usual because we didn't have to go to school next day, and we tried to be outside all the time.

Click here for more details and some photos of the stuff we did.

Dragon Tracking

Dragon Tracking
In November we went dragon tracking at Killerton woods. Each Six tracked dragons' footprints through the woods. Although we didn't manage to find any dragons (luckily?), we did find some dragons gold.

Woodlands

In August we had a day trip to Woodlands Leisure park.

Airport Visit

In July we visited Exeter Airport.

We managed to get through Security and through Customs. Then we went to the fire station, where the Firemen let us climb on the fire tenders and use the hoses. Thanks, guys!

District Football Competition

Shot at goal

The A-team striker tries to put the goal-keeper into the net.

In June we entered the District Cub Scout 6-a-side football competition. We entered two teams.

The A-team got to the semi-finals but were unlucky to be knocked out by a golden goal. One of the team was selected as the Player of the Tournament, and the rest of the team played very well, too.

The B-team didn't start very well, but improved with every game and finished very strongly. Unfortunately they couldn't quite make up for the weak start and failed to make the cut.

Dawlish Camp

At the June Half Term, the Pack went on Camp to Dawlish.

World Faiths Badge

In the Spring Term we've been doing the World Faiths Badge. We visited the mosque in Exeter and then, for a party at the end of term we decided to visit an oasis in the Sultanate of Oman. Visit to Oman
First we made some palm trees, to make the oasis. Then we dressed in proper Omani clothes. Then we sat on a mat in the oasis to eat Omani food with our hands.

Let's have a Party!

Birthday Party In February we had a party, to celebrate Baden-Powell's Birthday.

We invited the Beavers, too.
